In a small bay protected from the west winds by a barrel and has played a relatively important role as a fishing port. It is the main port of the municipality of Guia de Isora, a typical local fishing port where appart from offering Whale & Dolphin Watching excursions, there is a wonderful beach promenade, bars, cafeterias and restaurants.
If you would like to spend a day with your family under palm trees in a place where you can find everything you need for an enjoyable time at the beach, then Playa San Juan is just right for you. The sheltered bay and the small waves are great for swimming and afterwards there is food and drink to be enjoyed in the beach bar on the nicely landscaped promenade. Children can have fun at the playground and grown-ups can take advantage of the local diving school.
There are also toilets and two lifeguard towers at Playa de San Juan, as well as an inviting beach bar. Furthermore shops, additional restaurants, a playground and a diving school can be found here. In spite of its central location near to some of the more popular tourist resorts of the island, San Juan has kept some of its original charm, which means it is still a nice little fishing village where you can spend a relaxed day.
